Dermal Fillers in Dún Laoghaire

Dermal fillers are gels made mostly of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin. They are used to restore volume, add definition and soften folds, and they can usually be dissolved if needed.

Every aesthetic treatment starts with a consultation with Dr Godara (€100, redeemable against treatment). You are never asked to decide on the day, and every treatment includes a follow-up review at no extra cost.

Areas we treat

What happens at your appointment

Dr Godara will assess your facial proportions and discuss what you would like to change, including whether filler is the right approach. If you go ahead, numbing cream and fillers containing local anaesthetic keep discomfort low. Treatment usually takes 30 to 45 minutes.

Results and how long they last

You will see a difference straight away, and the final result once any swelling settles, usually within two weeks. Depending on the area and the product, results typically last from six months to over a year.

Possible side effects and risks

  • Swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising, usually settling within a week or two
  • Small lumps, which usually settle or can be massaged or dissolved
  • Infection or an allergic reaction, which are uncommon
  • Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel. This needs urgent treatment and, very rarely, can damage the skin or affect vision

Aftercare

For 24 hours, avoid touching the area, make-up, alcohol, strenuous exercise, saunas and very hot or cold temperatures. You will receive written aftercare advice and a follow-up review.
