Tear Trough (Under-eye) Filler in Dún Laoghaire

Hollows under the eyes can make you look tired even when you are not. In suitable patients, a small amount of filler can soften the hollow and give a fresher, more rested look.

Every aesthetic treatment starts with a consultation with Dr Godara (€100, redeemable against treatment). You are never asked to decide on the day, and every treatment includes a follow-up review at no extra cost.

Is it right for you?

Tear trough filler works best for hollowness with good skin quality. It is often not the right treatment for puffy under-eye bags, fluid retention or very thin, crepey skin, and it can make these look worse. Dr Godara will assess this carefully and tell you honestly if another approach would suit you better.

What happens at your appointment

The under-eye area is delicate, so a small amount of soft filler is placed carefully, often with a blunt-tipped cannula to reduce bruising. Treatment takes about 30 minutes.

Results and how long they last

Results are visible straight away and settle over about two weeks. Under-eye filler often lasts nine to twelve months, sometimes longer.

Possible side effects and risks

  • Swelling and bruising, which can last a little longer in this area
  • Lumps or a faint bluish tint if filler sits too close to the surface, which can be dissolved
  • Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel. Near the eye this can, very rarely, affect vision and needs emergency treatment

Common questions

Will it get rid of dark circles?
Filler can reduce shadowing caused by a hollow, but it does not change dark pigment in the skin.
